Yoga-Cise: Not just an exercise, but a way of life..

March is National Nutrition Month with a national theme of “Bite into a Healthy Lifestyle”. At Yoga-cise we will be taking our own “bites” of healthy foods in a workshop by Patti, nutritionist of ZEST Nutrition Services LLC.
Patti will be selecting ten good-for-you foods that can easily be incorporated into an everyday diet. For each food you’ll learn the health benefits; how to shop and prepare; different uses and recipes; as well as yummy tastes! The foods will include veggies, fruit, grains, proteins and more. Come hungry and taste some “bites” of good nutrition!
Yin Workshop - February 28th, 2015 - 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM
Through the practice of yin yoga, learn to cultivate stillness and inner awareness through holding seated and supine poses for several minutes each. The sequence we will practice is great for the winter months, as it rejuvenates and revitalizes the lower back/kidney and adrenal area, which can feel depleted and sore in the colder weather. We also have less fluidity and movement in the winter, leaving the body feeling tight and compressed. Yin yoga is also a great antidote to shoveling snow!
This style of yoga invites spaciousness into the body and mind, creating expansiveness in the joints and fascia. It helps balance out yang energy, which we practice in our vinyasa style yoga as well as our modern on the go lifestyle.
Classes that need registration are: Tuesday, Friday AM classes; Monday, Wednesday, Thursday PM classes
